Club Class & Familia launch Atomic
Club Class and Familia join forces to launch their new End residency - Atomic - with the white hot Dubfire
"With Kos' Familia parties coming to an end as a result of the closure of The Key they were looking for something new in London," explained Club Class' Jeff Gray on Atomic's conception. "At Club Class we were raring for something new to do following our succesful Ministry Of Sound parties. When the opportunity to come together and do parties at The End – a club we have all long admired - presented itself, we grabbed it with both hands. As it was something new, we felt it was only a right to give it a new name – Atomic."
A nodded reference to Club Class'inaugural warehouse styled home – Maidstone's Atomics – the new venture will maintain the same high standards that brought the likes of Tenaglia and Trentemøller to their Ministry Of Sound parties. At the same time, Jeff promises Atomic will plunder a more twisted and underground sound – edging onto techno and minimal territory. "In terms of both mentality and the sort of acts we're booking Atomic is definitely something a bit more stripped down and underground," continued Jeff. "Essentially, we'll be booking the best and freshest artists in underground electronic dance."
Representing the first genuine London residency for Club Class boy-wonder turned international superstar – Nic Fanciulli as well as the fast ascending Kos – the first Atomic on Saturday 8th March will remarkably be the first time Fanciulli has graced the decks at The End. "It's one of his favourite clubs in the world but it's one of the only he hasn't actually played," joked Gray.
Meanwhile back in Maidstone and Kent, Club Class have little intention of neglecting their back yard. As well as their February birthday, there's plans for one super-sized summer project that Jeff remained tight-lipped about. "We've been working on one project in particular for three years now," relayed Gray. "It's coming to the town this summer. I cant say more than that but it's something to make the whole of the UK stand up and take notice - just you wait and see!!"
As for Atomic, March's bash will be the first of four at The End in '08 with Saturday 14th June the next on the diary.
