Since invading an unsuspecting venue on the beautiful beach of Zrce, Pag, for a weekend of nonsense in July for the first time earlier this year, Hideout Festival – which brought a devastating artillery of acts (including Eric Prydz, Sven Väth, Marco Carola, Jamie xx, Dixon and Seth Troxler) to its stunning, sun-kissed location – decided the only way is up for an event welcomed with open arms by the clubbers with an ear for a beat worldwide.
Why? Apart from giving 7000 or so discerning ravers an opportunity to get wonky with their mates in the blazing sun on the beach or on a boat, it’s diverse spread of dancefloor acts won hearts from the off, and next year it’s destined to set another precedent, picking bigger and better acts and spreading across more stages and venues to this time entice 10,000 to the beautiful Island of Pag.
So far, Ricardo Villalobos, Skream, Annie Mac, Jamie Jones and Skrillex top the bill, alongside dnb honcho Andy C, Dirtybird headman Claude Vonstroke and Crosstown Rebel’s boss Damian Lazarus. Spreading the net even further, Erol Alkan will add some tech-heavy electro into the mix, Soul Clap will inject some deep disco grooves while Prins Thomas will take things to the upper reaches of the cosmos (full line-up so far below).
So, grab your weekend tickets (only £99) for Hideout 2012 (29th June - 1st July) now, and get planning a summer holiday with rave benefits to look forward to – dipping in the sea, jamming on the beach and grooving on a boat. It doesn’t get much better than this.
