Drill rapper Incognito, real name Sidique Kamara, has died following a fatal stabbing in Camberwell, South London on Wednesday night (August 1st).

Two other men were also stabbed and are in hospital with injuries that are thought to be serious. Two men are in custody held on suspicion of murder after being arrested near the scene.

The incident happened on Warham Street, the same street in which another Moscow17 member, Rhyhiem Ainsworth Barton, was shot dead in May of this year.

Incognito’s group, Moscow17, have been involved in an escalating feud with Peckham group Zone 2.

Incognito had made a warning about escalating violence in London recently, saying “The crime that’s happening right, music does influence it. You’ve got to put your hands up and say drill music does influence it,” in an interview with Link-Up TV less than two months ago.

However, he added, “knife crime and gun crime has been going on way before drill music”.

Major drill group 67 last month criticised the police and the media for “scapegoating” the music after they laid blame for much of London’s deadly violence on the genre.

An unprecedented court order even banned five artists from the group 1011 from making drill music without police permission the previous month.
