UK electronica polymath Jon Hopkins has shared the first single from his new album ‘Singularity’.
The London producer teased the new release, his first LP in fve years, just a few weeks ago with a mesmerising video featuring snippets of new music. Now, he has announced that the new LP will be released on 4th May via Domino and has unveiled the first single to be lifted from it, the glorious ‘Emerald Rush’.
The album, which follows his 2013 opus ‘Immunity’, is described as being a “complete body of work...intended to be listened to in one sitting” which explores “the dissonance between dystopian urbanity and the green forest.”
‘Emerald Rush’ carries the distinct tones and textures that have come to define Hopkins’ work, with propulsive percussion carrying the ethereal soundscapes and crisp bass stabs. It comes accompanied by an equally mesmerising an animated video directed by Robert Hunter & Elliot Dear.
Hopkins will be touring extensively this year, dividing his time between live shows and DJ sets. You can check out the list of dates here.
