Matt Relton spent the past six years producing under his Kidnap Kid monicker. Now, however, it seems he wants to move on from his musical nascence into a new era of maturity and intent.
Operating simply as “Kidnap” since last year, Relton steps further into this phase with ‘Ashes’ a melodic, crisp three-track EP on his own Birds That Fly imprint, his second under the new alias. On ‘Aurora’ – premiering below – the Sheffield-born DJ/producer crafts a polished, emotive track with nostalgic trance flavours, warm, plucked synths and resolute energy.
The EP’s triptych of tasteful productions is a strong move for the producer and one which signifies a newfound purpose and progression. Check out ‘Aurora’ below. ‘Ashes’ is out on 16th March. You can pre-order it here.
