RADIO 1 GOES DANCE FOR A WEEK!
BBC station devotes a week to dance in run-up to Ibiza Weekend
BBC Radio 1, the UK's national pop music station, has launched a week-long online stream dedicated to dance music in he run-up to its Ibiza Weekend.
Radio 1 Dance Radio will sit on the Radio 1 homepage here www.bbc.co.uk/radio1 and will run 24-hours a day.
The Ibiza Weekend is the annual event where a host of Radio 1 DJs jet off to the White Isle for some parties with some of the biggest names in dance music. See the full Ibiza Weekend line-up here
The week-long dance extravaganza kicks off with Annie Mac in the mix at 9pm on Friday 25th July, and ends at 6pm on Friday 1st August when Radio 1 crosses live to Nick Grimshaw, broadcasting from the beach.
R1 Dance Radio will feature a mixture of some of the best Essential Mixes, Radio 1 from Ibiza last year, Annie Mac and Pete Tong b2b at Glastonbury and other choice selections.
Radio 1 are also reaching out to friends of the station for some brand new live shows — Defected, Food Music, Hospital and a number of DJs who have come up through BBC Introducing will feature. See the full schedule here
