Traditionally, Sunday has always been DJ day and this year they've teamed up with Drum & Bass Arena and Kam to bring some exciting new seminars.
REMIX MASTER CLASS
Along with all the latest products, Kam's muscle will bring show visitors a production event to die for.
For some serious nostalgia, come and check out Reinforced Records legends, Nebula2. They're giving away production techniques and spilling the beans on how they created their killer tracks, back in the in the day.
Learn how classics like Mr Kirk's Nightmare, Seance and Atheama were made without all the plugins and sample packs of today!
D&B ARENA FORUM DJS VS ARENA DJS
Not only can you check out all the latest technology – from stage line arrays, to mobile rigs, lights, lasers and DJ equipment – you can also pitch your skills up against some of the best DJs on the scene.
D&B Arena are looking for three hot new DJs out there to showcase their talents at the PLASA show.
The selected DJs will be invited to a back2back spin-off with rising Drum and Bass stars Aggers and AMC who will mix it up in a head-to-head clash of the turntables. So log onto the forum and show them what you've got!
Post a link to your mix (20 - 30 mins) in this thread (Preferably to a stream)
AMC, AGGERS & SNIGE will be selecting the chosen 3. Deadline for mix entries 22nd August and winners announced 25th August.
The selected DJ's will also be invited to play a set on DnB TV live in future months.
KAM BEAM UP AND CLEAN UP
Kam are cleaning up at the moment with their LED lighting gear, lasers and top of the range DJ kit. These guys are seriously delivering the goods for not very much money at all.
After last year's display of talent, they reckon they'll be topping the bill with even more groundbreaking new kit for you to put under the knife and test out; hands on at the show.
FUNKTION ONE SEMINAR
PLASA have also turned up quite a coup and present FREE Masterclasses, one of which will be presented by the legendary Funktion One co-founder Tony Andrews. He's a highly regarded audio designer and last year's winner of PLASA's first ever Gottelier Award.
He will headline a growing programme of seminars and workshops, which include technology overviews of some of his most exciting discoveries in PA design, along with some more pro-level chats on the Noise at Work regulations, microphone performance and sound system optimisation.
PLASA will be splitting up the massive expanse of manufacturer stands with dedicated spots to highlight interesting new bits of kit, and the obligatory boozing spots, like the main central hall.
This year they've got a spot for the biggest boozers of all – the new Dealer Lounge to reflect the fact that the show is really exploding as an industry-led show.
