To survive 12 years in dance music is a real achievement for a record label.
But on 6 April UK label Whoop! will indeed reach 12-years-old, and will
also celebrate its 100th release.
Label bosses Andrew Lekker and Joel Xavier started Whoop! in 1994 as an output for forward-thinking progressive house, and over the years they have released some of the most important records of the genre.
UK DJ Steve Lawler paid tribute to Whoop!.
He said: "These guys have supplied me with some killer tracks over the years, always keeping quality as their forefront."
Whoop!'s 100th release will be a reworking of the classic 'House Stompin'' by Bump, the track that originally inspired Lekker and Xavier to start the label.
The tune became a hit after DJ duo Sasha & Digweed included it on their famous CD mix compilation 'Renaissance – The Mix Collection 1'.
