The Super-Phonics

Bah Samba's Julian Bendall is certainly putting himself about a bit and with the sort of quality he can muster with live instrumentation, it's no bad thing. But in this instance it's handed to him on a plate by The Super-Phonics, a kind of acid jazz supergroup, including such luminaries as Snowboy, Incognito's Bluey and original Brand New Heavy Simon Bartholemew among others. All that was left for Bendall and partner Filsonik to do was to tease it into something weighty enough for the dancefloor. The result is a delicious sunset groove that lets the vocals of Miss Lucy Jules take centre stage on the 'Bahsonik Mix', while the 'Filsonik Dub' works it Body & Soul style.
