Fabio & Grooverider launch joint label, Procreation
It will be the veteran drum & bass duo's first imprint together...
Fabio & Grooverider are set to launch a record label together for the first time ever, naming it Procreation Recordings after their respective labels Prototype and Creative Source.
“After 25-plus years in the game with us both running seminal record labels Prototype and Creative Source, we felt it was time to join forces to help bring new talent through — as well as release the first ever Fabio & Grooverider project!” the guys told DJ Mag.
Both DJs ran separate labels in the 1990s and noughties. Fabio’s Creative Source concentrated mainly on the liquid/jazzy side of the sound, helping to bring through cats such as Calibre, Big Bud and Subject 13.
Groove’s Prototype, meanwhile, put out important sci-fi material by Photek, Optical and Boymerang, whose ’Still’ remains one of d&b’s most enduring anthems.
The legendary duo have had an amazing 2017, helming a load of ’25 Years Of Drum & Bass’ parties at clubs and festivals across the globe, and continuing to dominate the airwaves with their Rinse FM show.
