Gorillaz have launched a new customisable clothing range with Levi’s.
It's the second brand collaboration in as many years for the band, who also joined forces with G-Shock to celebrate the watch company's 35th anniversary in 2018.
Levi's has created a new range with customisable logos, each reworked by Jamie Hewlett, co-creator of Gorillaz. Members 2D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle and Russel Hobbs appear throughout the collection.
"Another top collaboration featuring two of the world’s most iconic names: Levi’s and Murdoc Niccals. A marriage made in heaven, if I believed in either concept," Niccals is quoted as saying by fashion website Hypebeast. "The best thing is I get clothes with my own face on, which makes looking in the mirror twice as rewarding."
Denim jackets, printed hoodies, t-shirts and tote bags all feature, with fans able to select their favourite artwork from an exclusive library to be included on each item.
"[The band believes]in harnessing the creative power of our millions of fans. Plus, it saves a lot of designing our end, which means more time for our other hobbies. I’m training to become an MMA fighter, and 2D is learning the pogo stick," said Niccals.
Those who want more Gorillaz should read what happened on our recent Chilean adventure, when we flew out to a Patagonian bar on chess night to speak with Noodle about her hunt for the crime lord Niccals blamed for his incarceration last year. Then find our why we might be waiting some time for another new album from the band and the reasons behind a potential ten year hiatus from touring.
