Leipzig's Institut für Zukunf has become one of the first clubs to win Germany's presitigious Spielstätte des Jahres award.
The space was granted this year's Spielstätte des Jahres (venue of the year) award in recognition of its important contribution the city's community and cultural landscape. It also won the jury award for Gleichstellung for equality.
Accompanying the Spielstätte des Jahres is a funding cheque of €45,000, which the venue have said they will use to invest in its infrastructure.
Last month, Leipzig's Riotvan label released the second volume of their 'Familiar Faces' compilation.
In August, Leipzig authorities passed a law to abolish closing times for nightlcubs.
