Experience the real-life struggles of a touring DJ with this new in-depth doc…
A new documentary from DJSounds looks at the impact of touring and DJing on the mental health and lives of those lucky enough to do it. ‘Why We DJ – Slaves to the Rhythm’ is a 38-min insight into the world of travelling, performing, partying and producing and how the fast-paced world of dance music can take its toll. Luciano, Seth Troxler, B Traits, Carl Cox, and Ben Pearce – whose mental health issues have been widely publicised – all discuss their own views and experiences on the road.
Industry insiders such as Association for Electronic Music’s Mark Lawrence and Sasha’s tour manager Harley Lunar give the behind-the-scenes take on how quickly DJs can rise and fall. It’s a fascinating look at an important topic that’s thankfully been getting more attention in recent times. Watch it below.
