Novation's latest MIDI keyboard comes with built-in sequencer and CV out
The SL MKIII also has full-colour screens and is designed with Ableton Live in mind…
Novation's latest MIDI controller – the SL49 MKIII – comes with a built-in sequencer, CV and gate outputs, full-colour screens and presets for popular software and hardware. The sequencer – which features eight tracks of polyphonic sequencing – can be used with or without software, meaning the keyboard can control hardware and modular gear without being connected to a computer.
There's also eight faders for mixing, Push-style knobs, a light guide for the keybed similar to that found on the NI's Komplete Kontrol keyboards and the ability to select and remain without a variety of different scales.
As you might, all this functionality comes at a price with the 49-key version coming in at £539 and the 61-key version at £629. No word yet on a smaller, cheaper version but it's a big statement from Novation and definitely looks like a great all-rounder for any hardware-heavy Ableton-based studios.
