An acid house invasion, dubbed 'Dance 88/89', is heading to Ibiza every Wednesday this summer thanks to Dave Vincent and Sankeys Ibiza.
Starting May 25th until September 28th, the 19 weeks of acid-fuelled parties will see the likes of Adamski, Alfredo, Colin Dale, Evil Eddie Richards, Fabio and Grooverider, Frankie Valentine, Graeme Park, MC Kinky, Marshall Jefferson, Mr C, Nicky Holloway, Terry Farley, Trevor Fung and 808 State all playing Sankeys Ibiza this forthcoming summer.
“Dance 88/89 is my own personal artistic project which celebrates the original music culture of classic underground Acid House, in an authentic environment,” explains Sankeys owner Dave Vincent. “This party is a celebration of the return of the true legendary music and is done with a lot of love from my part."
'Dance 88/89' at Sankeys Ibiza will be anchored each week by residents Matthew Benjamin AKA Bushwacka and DJ Alfredo, two Godfathers of the house music revolution.
To give the parties a true, authentic feel Dave Vincent has decided to take the unusual decision to ban partygoers from taking any photos or videos, “We are banning taking pictures with mobile phones as no one had phones then except the promoters or yuppies!”
Speaking about 88/89, Danny Rampling said: “It’s all about classic underground Acid House and Balearic 88-89 at Sankeys Ibiza this summer. I am so looking forward to playing the opening and closing parties. This promises to be a hot ticket on the island celebrating our original music culture”.
As well as the Ibiza parties, Vincent is planning a 'Dance 88/89' party at a secret location in Madchester on Easter Sunday, March 27th, which will see Adamski, Alfredo, Colin Dale, Evil Eddie Richards, Fabio and Grooverider, Frankie Valentine, Graeme Park, MC Kinky, Marshall Jefferson, Mr C, Nicky Holloway, Terry Farley, Trevor Fung and 808 State all playing under one roof.
