Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Derrick May’s Transmat label will be hosting a special party at El Molino, Barcelona, on Saturday 18th June with a special performance from Francesco Tristano, who will debuting his new electronic project, p:anorig.
After more than a year composing in the studio, Tristano is now ready to tour his new innovative live setup. Alongside the forthcoming tour, which will be heading to the Japanese edition of Montreux Jazz festival later this year, he will also be releasing a brand-new long-play on May’s Transmat label later this year.
Transmat has released music from four artists this year so far, and three of them are confirmed to be playing on the night too — Karim Sahraoui, Azimute, Deep’a and Biri.
For the show, Tristano has devised a new snake-like rig (shown above) that has been designed by Villablanch, a leading interior design studio based in Barcelona.
As a composer, producer, pianist and electronic live act, Tristano has worked with some of the most respected artists such as Luciano, Derrick May, Carl Craig, Moritz von Oswald, Murcof, as well as the Russian National Orchestra and the Deutsche Symphonie Orchester Berlin.
