SOPHIE, Liars, Blanck Mass and more hit east London’s multi-space shindig...

Visions Festival hit east London on Saturday 5th August, with the multi-venue shindig taking place across spaces including London Fields Brewhouse, Mangle, The Institute of Light, Netil House and Oval Space.

Proceedings kick off with the annual Visions Dog Show at Church of St John-at-Hackney, where local canine owners pit their pooches against each other in categories like Best Fancy Dress with Twin Peaks theme, Best Dog, Cutest Pup, Waggiest Tail and Best Trick.

Later, an eclectic line-up sees electronic artists including SOPHIE and Blanck Mass perform live sets, alongside highlights from The Men, Jenny Hval and Frankie Cosmos.

Liars, who come to perform tracks from their forthcoming album, ‘TFCF’, steal the show headlining at Mangle, with frontman Angus Andrew sporting the wedding dress from the album’s artwork.

Only two tracks from the new album feature, ‘Cred Woes’ and ‘Coins In My Caged Fist’, but both prove that, 17 years in, Liars still manage to produce material that maintains them being one of the most exhilarating live acts on the planet.

Away from the main stages, SkullCandy host a DJ stage in the Space Studios courtyard, which includes sets from Anu of Rhythm Section, In Flagranti and Bullion, whilst Happyness host a beer pong competiton in the area in the early evening.

Inside the Space Art Studio, a tattoo exhibition of work by Norman 'Sailor Jerry' Collins sees people being inked with iconic art throughout the day, flanked by a standalone Sailor Jerry bar outside, which serves a host of cocktails to a constant throng of Visions attendees.

The event also sees the east London fashion pack out in force, with turned up jeans and double denim seemingly the flavour of the weekend.

If you don’t beleive us, below are 14 photos that prove Visions is the hippest festival in the UK.
