The latest music industry-centred film to hit the box office is Kill Your Friends, set around the height of Britpop and dubbed “this generation’s American Psycho”.
Based on the novel by John Niven, the film tells the tale of a 27-year-old A&R fuelled by greed and drugs, slashing his way through the music industry in 1997.
We caught up with author John Niven on the brink of the film's release, when he was kind enough to read us his favourite passage from the book. He also talked us through the new film's explosive trailer — stream our exclusive interview with Niven below.
