When Dax J made worldwide headlines last year for dropping an Islamic call to prayer sample during his set in Tunisia, it looked for a minute like his career could be over. As a result of the ensuing international furore he received all manner of online death threats, and was sentenced to a year in prison by a Tunisian court. But instead of wallowing in gloom, he channelled the experience into writing music, producing some of his best ever work that has made its way onto his new album. Appropriately titled ‘Offending Public Morality’, it finds the Berghain regular in uncompromising mood. DJ Mag joins him in Berlin to get the full scoop...
