Bandcamp has announced plans to continue fee-free Fridays for the rest of 2020.
In March this year, Bandcamp waived its revenue share for all sales made in a 24-hour period, between midnight and midnight PST, in support of artists using the platform. Artists earned $4.3 Million on the first fee-free Friday, with almost 800,000 items sold through the platform.
A new charity compilation, 'Music in Support of Black Mental Health', will be released later this week.
Exclusively available via Bandcamp, over 28 artists have contributed tracks to the compilation, including Planet Mu's Jana Rush, Jlin, Sami Baha, and FaltyDL.
There will also be productions from Beatrice Dillon, Speaker Music, and Zora Jones & Sinjin Hawke, with all proceeds from the compilation split between five Black charities in the US and UK; BEAM, Black Thrive, Nilaari, National Queer and Trans Therapists of Colour Network, and Nilaari.
