UK music icon Gilles Peterson recently teamed up with D&B legend DJ Krust, to host a special one-off radio segment on the Bristol underground music scene.

Throughout the show, Peterson chats with a bunch of respected artists and academics to trace Bristol’s vibrant musical lineage, including pow-wows with Mo’ Wax label boss James Lavelle, Portishead’s Geoff Barrow, Full Cycles’s Roni Size, Appleblim, Richard King and many more.

Anyone who’s got a faint interest in the Bristol bass scene will no doubt be familiar with the Bandulu gang. Kahn and Neek’s vinyl-only label (which just launched an online record/merch store, btw) has charted releases from the pair of them, Breen, Gemmy, Boofy and Hi5 Ghost.

Bristol legend Derek Morris, aka DJ Derek, has been missing for three weeks. His family are extremely concerned about the 73-year-old, who has played hundreds of DJ sets and worked with many high-profile artists.

The police have been informed and the case is being treated as a missing person's case.

The famed Bristolian producer is back with a new single 'Midnight' in anticipation of his new album, which is due on his own label Kapsize 16th February. 

The hugely anticipated album is set to be some of the producer's most mature work yet, he styles it as his "A/W Collection", stating: "I want everybody to listen to it once from start to finish, in their whip, in their yard, in their studio, going for a run whatever… 'cos that’s how I intended to bring people into my world." 

Manchester DJ and producer Ben Pearce has just revealed the plans for his latest project entitled, 'The Sextape Series'. The series will see Pearce play in venues across the UK, while also releasing free mix tapes along the way.

Don't expect Pearce to bring his signature house and techno sound on the tour either, as 'The Sextape Series' will be all things disco, soul and funk.

As we reported recently, Roni Size is back with a new album and also news of some live dates for Reprazent — his award-winning live drum & bass band.

Roni Size, the Bristol-born drum & bass DJ/producer who won the Mercury Music Prize in 1997, is back with a new album — 'Take Kontrol'. The title track features his old sparring partner Dynamite MC on vox. The solo album will be released on 25^th August, and will be preceded by a New EP — 'Size Matters' — on 18^th August.
