Berlin’s Club der Visionaere damaged in fire
A fire broke out in Berlin’s Club der Visionaere this morning, 15th June.
Firefighters were called to the beloved Kreuzberg club shortly after 8 AM and prevented the blaze from spreading to a nearby gas station.
According to a tweet from the Berlin Fire Department, three people were “slightly injured” in the incident. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
A new 10,000 capacity venue is opening in Manchester, Depot
Plans have been revealed for a 10,000 capacity culture venue at Manchester's historic Mayfield site.
The new venue, Depot, is the result of a collaboration between The Mayfield Partnership (comprising of regeneration specialist U+I, Manchester City Council, Transport for Greater Manchester and LCR) and venue specialists Broadwick Venues and Vibration Group, who are the team behind London's Printworks and Drumsheds.
Belgian club Café Capital reopens nine years after devastating fire
Belgian nightclub Café Capital has reopened as Grand Café Capital, after being destroyed in a fire in 2010.
Located in the city's Stadspark, Grand Café Capital boasts a restaurant, terrace and a low-capacity club area downstairs.
The first party this weekend is hosted by local collective Café au Lait, with three parties to follow every weekend in June.
Intrigue nightclub in Las Vegas has permanently closed
Wynn Nightlife’s Intrigue nightclub closed its doors for a final time on Saturday.
The 14,000 square-foot Vegas club will become host to private events that can accommodate up to 750 people. Wynn Nightlife also offer Encore XS’s Nightclub and Encore Beach Club.
Since Intrigue’s opening in 2016, the club has welcomed top-tier DJs in the form of David Guetta, who played this year’s EDC in Las Vegas, Diplo, Jamie Jones and Steve Angello.

Huge fire engulfs Spanish club Playa Padre
Playa Padre, a beachside club in Marbella, Spain, caught fire on Monday (11th February).
Footage emerged yesterday afternoon of the popular club engulfed in flames. As reported by Euro Weekly News, an investigation has been launched to figure out the cause of the blaze. No injuries have been reported.
Sub Club owner says the venue’s future is under threat
The future of leading Glasgow nightclub, Sub Club, is under threat, according to its managing director.
Mike Grieve said that the 410-capacity Jamaica Street clubbing institution faces an uncertain future as a result of a planned Wetherspoon hotel development nearby.
"it's very serious," Grieve said. “It’s serious for us as a business and an established music institution but moreover it’s serious for music venues generally in so far as there is a clear need for them to be protected.”

The space was granted this year's Spielstätte des Jahres (venue of the year) award in recognition of its important contribution the city's community and cultural landscape. It also won the jury award for Gleichstellung for equality.
