Fabric nightclub has announced its long-running Friday night series FABRICLIVE will no longer take place every week.
Although the venue will reopen with a FABRICLIVE night on Friday 6th January, following its successful battle to regain its licence over the past few months, the club announced via its blog that FABRICLIVE will then only be held on the last Friday of the month, along with "a bunch of Bank Holiday specials and other one offs".
Khan & Neek are set to join the long list of esteemed producers who've delivered a mix for the long-running FABRICLIVE compilation series.
Stalwarts of Bristol's rich dubstep, grime and soundsystem scene since the mid-noughties, the pair have put out both solo and collaborative (under Khan & Neek and their joint Gorgon Sound moniker) releases for Pinch's Tectonic imprint, Punch Drunk, Idle Hands, Deep Medi Musik and even Warp Records.
The Olympics may be over but Swindle's got an extra dose of Brazilian brilliance!
Following the announcement of his new 'A Trilogy Of Funk' EP series at the start of the month, the South London producer has dropped the video to the first EP's title-track, 'Connecta'.
Recorded in São Paulo and featuring Ricardo China, 'Connecta' offers upbeat vibes and more lively Latin percussion than you shake a... well, shaker at!
Every year, 16,000 or so bass music fans make the pilgrimage from all over the world to a small coastal town in Pula, Croatia for a week of unadulterated partying in what is surely the best setting for a festival in the world. Once again, DJ Mag made the trip over to Croatia for a week's worth of damn hard work (!), and more than a little hedonism. With a line-up that was as excellent as it was prolific, there was no way that we were ever going to be able to see everyone that we wanted to. However, we gave it our damned best try!
The famed Bristolian producer is back with a new single 'Midnight' in anticipation of his new album, which is due on his own label Kapsize 16th February.
The hugely anticipated album is set to be some of the producer's most mature work yet, he styles it as his "A/W Collection", stating: "I want everybody to listen to it once from start to finish, in their whip, in their yard, in their studio, going for a run whatever… 'cos that’s how I intended to bring people into my world."
Alex Crawford, aka The Others, burst onto the dubstep scene back in 2007 when his track 'Africa VIP' featured on Caspa & Rusko's seminal Fabriclive mix. Alex went on to produce a stream of widely acclaimed releases for Dub Police, and seven years on he's still an integral part of the label, a testament to his loyalty and the close-knit team behind the label.
LA bass-makers, Matt Simmers, Jon Spero and Chris Barlow, aka Terravita, don’t simply add “Fuel To The Fire” on their heart-racing four-track EP (out tomorrow, October 14 on Firepower Records), they blast fireworks into the stratosphere and let subatomic thunder down in a new twist on American dubstep.
J:Kenzo's Artikal Music UK has been a rising star in dubstep for quite some time now, and a string of game changing releases in the past year has cemented its place in the scene amongst legendary 140 heavyweights such as Tempa, Deep Medi, Boka and Tuba.
Not one to rest on its laurels, J:Kenzo's label is continuing its domination of the scene with what may be their biggest release yet.
A grizzly beatsmith is about to turn up the heat on summer a few more degrees.
The enigmatic producer Bear Grillz, known only by his cartoon alias, brings his electro-rock with a twist to Firepower Records on August 5, featuring two of the most powerful names in American dubstep: Datsik and 12th Planet.
