Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) returns to Holland this week for five days of parties, showcases, conferences and panels for the dance music industry.
The event - which has been running since 1996 - is Europe’s definitive dance music conference - and is home to the Top 100 DJs Awards party.
As an official partner of ADE, Miller Genuine Draft set out the definitive events that you need to check out while you are in Amsterdam.
WEDNESDAY 14th OCTOBER
It's almost time for ADE, Europe's most historic dance music conference, and the DJ Mag crew are heading out to the Dutch capital for a full-throttle week of streams, parties and the Top 100 DJs announcement.
The first of our streams kicks off on Wednesday, 14th of October, with an Ants Ibiza takeover — think music from Ushuaia resident Andrea Oliva, plus Secondcity and Tapesh from 5:00pm — 8:00pm.
DIYnamic boss Solomun is one of our faves. We like him so much we put him on our UK cover back in June, and now the dynamic dude has dropped a new mini documentary about his famed Hamburg-based imprint.
Taking place 14th to 18th October in the Dutch capital, Amsterdam Dance Event will welcome a brand new element to its annual schedule of industry talks, panels and parties this year, with the launch of new conference and showcase event, ADE Beats.
ADE Beats follows the success of similar conference Rotterdam Beats — an annual initiative to promote hip-hop, bass and beats in Europe.
This year, 18hrs Festival is celebrating its 5th anniversary on 11th July. The mammoth 18 hour party will please ravers with techno, deep and tech house until the break of dawn. A 10 minute drive from Amsterdam, the festival will take place at the Balkenhaven-terrein in Zaandam.
The third edition of Dutch heavy-hitting techno festival Dekmantel has just announced the first surge of artists set to perform at the event.
American techno heavyweight Jeff Mills (pictured) is set to headline the occasion with other luminaries such as Ricardo Villalobos, Four Tet, Madlib and Tale Of Us scheduled to perform.
It’s been called “Electronic Music’s UN Summit”, “Electronic Music’s HQ” and “Good Luck Making It To Your 9am Panel”. In just a few years the client-meeting-and-carnage week that is Amsterdam Dance Event (Pronounced “A, D, E” by Europeans, “Aid” by the US and “Friday afternoon” by the Dutch) has become an interesting hybrid.
Hardwell received the coveted No.1 DJ in the world award at the massive Amsterdam party on Saturday 18th October. This is the fourth year in a row that the Top 100 DJs awards have been in Amsterdam, to coincide with the ADE conference that occurs in mid-October every year.
